well that storm got downgraded fast.
yesterday I was hearing 'Massive storm coming, all day! Up to 18" of snow!'
Today? 'Buncha rain today, enh, maybe 1-2" of snow overnight tonight.'
not that I'm complaining mind you.
I've had enough snow shoveling for awhile.

In other news, I haven't updated in awhile, so here's some datapoints.
I am the proud new owner of an older 10g iPod, which follows me to work every day and entertains me on the subway and while I'm doing tapes. I got it in the deal in which I got rid of meg and I's old laptops for some cash+iPod. worked out well. It's not the MP3 player I would have picked, but this way I don't have to drop the cash on one.
Going to Maui in about a week and a half. omfg, so psyched. I'll try to bring back some sun for y'all.
Work has been more ok yesterday and today for some strange reason.
Beer: I have a wicked hoppy IPA dry hopping in secondary right now. I'll bottle it next week before we leave for Maui.
Books:
Finished the new edition of Stranger in a Strange Land,
- It was good, but it's been so long since I read the other version that any major differences eluded me. It felt more full though, and it was really good to read it again.
Reread Murakami's Hard-Boiled Wonderland and The End of The World.
- I happened across this book one day years ago (early to mid '90s) at a library book-sale in upstate new york. I bought it because it had a great title. Read it, kinda liked it, but it was pretty "out there" too. Years later, I meet Meg, and at some point this book comes up and I discover that Murakami is this huge author in Japan, and this book is some kind of underground classic of modern Japanese literature or something.
I'm so hip I don't even have to think about it. Just happens naturally.
Now working on Salman Rushdie's The Ground Beneath Her Feet.
- The only book of his I've read was Haroun and the Sea of Stories, his "kids book," so this is a new experience for me. So far so good, we'll see how I like it after a few hundred pages. (only on pg. 53)
That's about it for now.
